Secondary

In our secondary provision, our curriculum is designed to support students to re-engage with learning, achieve meaningful outcomes, and prepare for their next steps.

Our approach is built on two equally important elements: the academic curriculum and the specialist curriculum, each with a distinct purpose but working together to ensure every student can succeed.

The academic curriculum provides the knowledge, skills and qualifications students need for the future. At Key Stage 3, students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, aligned to the National Curriculum and adapted to meet individual needs. At Key Stage 4, students work towards the equivalent of seven Level 2 qualifications.

Our specialist curriculum underpins all learning. The Be the Best You Can Be, and Enrichment curriculums are taught explicitly and form the foundation for success within the academic curriculum. They support students to develop confidence, resilience, self-regulation and positive relationships, enabling them to access learning and thrive.

Together, these elements ensure we meet both the academic and personal development needs of our students, recognising that both are essential for long-term success.
