    Secondary Outreach

    Our Mission

We support pupils in mainstream schools in the South of Essex, who face a diverse range of barriers to education and are at risk of permanent exclusion. Our goal is to re-engage students, enhance their connection to learning and help them to thrive in their school environment. Our purpose is to strengthen the support for mainstream schools in meeting the needs of children and young people with SEND, by developing staff expertise and confidence and ensuring high‑quality provision is in place.

What you can expect from us

    In our tailored 12-step plan, we hope to achieve;

    • An increased sense of belonging for your student
    • An increase in staff confidence in supporting your students’ needs
    • Improvement in the relationship between staff, students and parents/carers
    • An increase in the student’s attendance to school and attitude to learning
    • A decline in pupil suspensions and negative behaviour.
What you can expect for your young person

Our team will support your pupils with:

    • Promoting positive relationships with peers and staff
    • Building Resilience and problem-solving
    • Improving Social skills
    • Shaping a more positive attitude to learning
    • Developing emotional regulation skills
    How We Work

Our dedicated team will receive your referral, triage and allocate an engagement mentor.

A meeting will be held to discuss support, identifying challenges and concerns, and a programme of weekly sessions will be tailored to address emotional, behavioural and academic needs.

Over this period, reviews and observations will take place to ensure our support is having an impact on your student, and you are seeing this take effect.

Our mentors will be a guide to not only the students, but staff and parents will have their input, and guidance will be offered to all.
